I’ve loved @bradford_2025 (can’t believe it is almost over 😭)- and getting to see this year’s Turner Prize in one of our favourite galleries was the cherry on top.

It’s a great show for kids too - not too big, super beautiful and a brilliant playground and cafe close at hand.

Both my kids vote for @zadiexa for the win. I was a big fan of @nnena_kalu . My husband couldn’t decide between Rene Matić and Mohammed Sami. So we’re a family divided.

Oh and as a bonus, tickets are free (just book ahead).

And yet, it never feels like a city stuck in the past. And that feels particularly true at the moment with Future Tense showing at @yorkartgallery alongside The Aesthetica Art Prize until 25 Jan 2026. This is a snippet of @lizweststudio Our Spectral Vision, a fun and colourful take on Isaac Newton’s experiments with light refraction through prisms. I was a bit giddy about the prospect of seeing the giant bronzes at William Kentridge’s new major exhibition at the @yspsculpture in Wakefield, West Yorkshire. What I wasn’t quite expecting was how mesmerising the indoor exhibition would be too.

So a great indoor, outdoor day out - which is kinda handy to have in your back pocket in Yorkshire ☀️🌦️🌬️

And as ever, plenty of hands on fun for younger art lovers, including carry around baskets.

On until 19 April 2026. Kids go free.

Ever seen such a good-looking cake? 🍰

The family-friendly House of Fun exhibition at @wentworth_woodhouse is brilliant.

It runs until Sunday 16 November 2025 (so might be one to save for October half term too).

There’s a mix of indoor and outdoor fun in and around this grand stately house. And a mix of old and new artworks, including Final Boss (the monster cake) by @bruceasbestos and Friendship Follies (including a huge climbing frame) by Pippa Hale.

A great day out with kids close to Sheffield and the M1.

Meet the Phil and Grant Michell of giant inflatable cakes 🍰👀🍰👀

I’ve never had a bad day out at @wentworth_woodhouse - but this might the best one yet.

The new House of Fun exhibition runs until 16 November 25 and features @bruceasbestos Final Boss in the Marble Saloon and @pippahale Friendship Folly (which you can climb) in the Whistlejacket Room.

In keeping with the house’s reputation of throwing wild parities, there’s also dressing up, colourful wonky mirrors for dancing, sniff boxes and dinner parties to plan.

It’s also well worth keeping an eye out for all the upcoming events at the house. We went to the We Wonder festival a couple of years back and it was gorgeous.

I tell you gang, there is soo much good stuff on in Yorkshire at the moment.
